Dr. Mark Rutland's
National Institute of Christian Leadership Online helps leaders advance their skillset by learning life-long leadership principles that guide you to success in any environment and season of ministry.
As you work through the four sessions, you'll gain the leadership principles necessary to navigate crisis in staff management, increase giving, grow your ministry, recruit more volunteers, reduce conflict, increase your brand and influence, and build trust in your staff and congregation. Many senior leaders have stated the NICL should be a requirement before going into full time ministry. As you work through Dr. Rutland's training, you'll take away life lessons you wish someone would have taught you before you stepped into your first church or ministry. These leadership principles apply to church leaders, Christian business owners and marketplace ministers.
In course #1 of 4 in the NICL, Dr. Rutland expounds on Leadership (doing the right thing) vs. Management (all about doing things right). You’ll learn valuable principles to steer your organization toward sustained growth. Click to learn more.

“I’m 58 years old and have been in ministry as an associate pastor for the last 16 years. Prior to that I was an engineer working in Atlanta. This entire course, by far, has been an incredible journey and soooo beneficial b/c college and/or seminary school does not prepare you for leadership. Unfortunately, these institutions shy away from the practical side of leadership. Dr. Rutland should be commended for assembling such a vast array of topics taught from a “passionate, first-hand experience” point of view. VERY powerful to say the least. This course should be a prerequisite for all pastors in seminary.”
